Hale
is located in Lower Northeastern Michigan.We
are located in Iosco County, within Plainfield Township
about 20 miles inland from Lake Huron. The population
of our town is 4,292. We have numerous lakes in Hale
which makes our town very popular with tourists & boaters
in the summer months. Our lakes, ponds, streams and
the Au Sable River offer some of the best fresh water
fishing in the nation.Hale
is also the Gateway to the Huron National Forest, which
provides winter sports enthusiasts with great opportunities
for cross-country skiing, snowmobiling and snowshoeing.
Iosco county is known as the Cross Country Ski Capital
of Michigan, and is also a very popular place to hunt
in the fall months.
We
are also home to the West Gate of the River Road Scenic
