PLAINFIELD TOWNSHIP
REGULAR MEETING
AUGUST 2006

 

The Supervisor called the meeting to order at 3:00 P.M., followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.

Present:  Parkinson, Brown, Bielby, Bassi, Caverly, and 2 citizens. 

Approval of Minutes: Motion by Bassi seconded by Brown to approve the minutes of  the July 19, 2006 regular meeting. Roll call vote: All Ayes. Motion carried.

Presentation of Bills:  Motion by Brown seconded by Bassi to approve the bills as presented. Roll call vote:  All Ayes. Motion carried.

Mobil Home Ordinance:  We need to amend the ordinance to delete the 15 year statement. Motion by Bassi seconded by Caverly to amend ordinance #34 to read as follows: “Mobile home must meet current requirements of the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development regulations entitled Mobile Home Construction and Safety Standard”. This amendment to the Township Ordinance will become effective 30 days after publication. Roll call vote:  All Ayes.  Motion carried.

Appointment to Park & Rec. Board:  Motion by Parkinson seconded by Caverly to appoint John Laurin to the Park and Rec. Board effective immediately.  Roll call vote:  All Ayes. Motion carried.

Appointment to the Planning Comm.:  Motion by Parkinson seconded by Caverly to appoint Fred Lewis to the Planning Commission to replace Norm LaPorte. Roll call vote:  All Ayes.  Motion carried.

Public comments: None at 3:20 p.m.

Supervisor reported to the Board that he approved a building permit for repair work on a building located on a public park at Long Lake. Treasurer questioned if a permit on public land could be issued. Supervisor answered that due to the building being unsafe the permit was issued.

Motion by Brown seconded by Bassi to adjourn at 3:30 p.m. All Ayes. Motion carried.
